Bo's Schnitzelbunker

The owner is a fantastic guy—super personable and clearly passionate about what he does, which makes the experience even better. The food is cooked to perfection, though I do wish the flavors had a bit more punch. One downside, especially for those concerned about their diet, is that not everything is seed oil-free. The fries, for instance, are cooked in seed oils, which can be a dealbreaker for some. The inside dinning is very tight and not the best setting. Th owner did mention that they are opening outside dining the weather is good.

What we order & pictured: Traditional Schnitzel Sandwich With Kaiser bun - incredible Traditional Schnitzel Sandwich With Pretzel bun - amazing Large Pork Schnitzel Fingers - Crisp & Juicy! "Classic" Bratwurst - Bun was amazing and the Bratwurst is delicious Sauerkraut side - Some of the best I’ve ever had Cheese Pretzel Käsebrezel (Not pictured we ate too fast!) - Warm, soft and amazing texture Cheese Bacon Pretzel Käsespeck-Brezel (not pictured we ate it too fast!) - Texture and taste was incredible Bo's Curry Ketchup - Very interesting flavor or profile but amazing, recommended Potato Salad - Homemade and taste is extremely defined Black Forest Cookie - Soft & not over-baked Everything was amazing, no stomach issues and the food is made with a lot of care and love. The owner is from Frankfurt, Germany. I can say with certainty that this is better than all of the places I have eaten in Germany & Austria. If you want authentic Germany food - I suggest going here. We had a bit of a mix up with our delivery but when i called the restaurant to let them know the gentleman was polite and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I personally wasn't a fan of the curry ketchup but I've never been a fan of curry so I figured that would be the case but still wanted to try it. Everything else was absolutely amazing. The schnitzel wasnt dry or overcooked, the bratwurst was really good, and the pretzels were phenomenal. I definitely recommend the pretzel bun for the schnitzel, that was our favorite!

Just absolutely killer food, no other way around it. My buddy and I showed up midday and ordered a ton of stuff on the menu (very reasonably priced) and it was all GREAT. Everything was hot and crispy and delicious (the pretzel was INCREDIBLE—so hot and fluffy—and the schnitzel and currywurst were genuinely amazing) and the owner was an absolute delight to chat to. It’s about an hour away from us but we’ve been talking about going back almost every day since :]

This is the ONLY place out of all of Wisconsin where there is a true German that owns and cooks the food. The Brat, Coleslaw and everything else is the most authentic German food I’ve have in America. So grateful for this place and I come all the time now for the food. Also the beers are all real German beers too which I appreciate.

Bo’s Schnitzel Bunker is legit. The schnitzel is crispy, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients—no seed oils, just real beef tallow and lard. I had the pork schnitzel on a pretzel bun with Bo’s sauce and homemade pickles, and it hit the spot. The cucumber salad and seasoned fries were solid, too. Bonus points: the owner is pretty hot. Definitely worth a visit.

Great schnitzel & bratwurst. Accompanied by a great German Beer selection. The owner Matthew is super genuine and very hospitable. Place definitely worth a stop if traveling towards or out of the Milwaukee area. Great area to grab a quick bite and beer with a walk by the lake.!
